Mischaracterization of Corruption Interruption by DCF Investigator Huggins
At Corruption Interruption, we have made it our mission to hold public institutions accountable, stand up for civil rights, and ensure that government agencies operate with transparency, integrity, and respect for individual rights. Unfortunately, it seems that our efforts to shed light on unethical practices are being met with deliberate attempts to mischaracterize our organization by Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Investigator Alnisha Huggins.
In a recent court filing, Investigator Huggins cited Corruption Interruption in a misguided attempt to discredit our work. She described our organization as a “series of social media accounts” without acknowledging its status as a registered non-profit organization, currently pending approval for 501(c)(3) status. This omission not only undermines the legitimacy of our mission but also falsely suggests that our work lacks structure, credibility, or legal standing.
Here’s what Investigator Huggins and DCF fail to understand—or perhaps conveniently ignore:
Corruption Interruption is a Registered Non-Profit Organization: While our 501(c)(3) status is still pending approval, Corruption Interruption is a legally recognized non-profit organization. We operate under the legal protections afforded to non-profits, and our advocacy, transparency efforts, and community outreach are in full compliance with both state and federal law.
Our Mission is to Protect Civil Rights: Far from being an obstacle to proper government function, Corruption Interruption exists to empower communities by providing a platform for citizens to voice their concerns, request information, and demand better treatment from public institutions. We stand for transparency, justice, and accountability—all values that are at the core of any democratic society.
Attempts to Discredit Are Part of a Broader Pattern: Investigator Huggins’ attempt to cast aspersions on our organization mirrors a long-standing pattern of harassment and unfounded claims directed at individuals and groups that challenge the status quo. In Corruption Interruption’s case, it appears that DCF’s response to our advocacy is to discredit us by mischaracterizing our purpose and associating us with negative stereotypes—actions that are both unfounded and harmful.
Public Trust and Oversight: The failure to properly acknowledge our non-profit status and the legitimate work we do only serves to undermine public trust in both the DCF and its investigation methods. We have consistently demonstrated our compliance with the law and have sought proper documentation and justification from DCF, but instead, we are met with disregard for our rights and misrepresentation.
It’s important to set the record straight: Corruption Interruption is not a rogue social media account—it is a legitimate, lawful entity that protects rights, fights corruption, and advocates for transparency in government. The mischaracterization of our organization as a threat only serves to distract from the real issue: government accountability and transparency.
We will continue to stand by our mission to ensure that no one is above the law, including government agencies that have an obligation to serve and protect the public. We call on Investigator Huggins and the Florida Department of Children and Families to focus on real issues of accountability instead of attempting to discredit organizations and individuals that seek to make the system work for everyone.
At Corruption Interruption, we will not be silenced, misrepresented, or discredited. Our fight for justice and transparency will continue. We will always advocate for your rights and the truth.
