COMMUNITY NOTICE: Who Is Leading at Palm Beach Prep Charter Academy ?
Parents, teachers, and Palm Beach County residents — it’s time to ask some serious questions.
Yarnell Williams, recently hired as Assistant Principal at Palm Beach Prep Charter Academy, has a serious and active criminal history that parents deserve to know about:
Arrested in 2024 on two felony counts of fraud
Pled guilty in January 2025
Was sentenced to 36 months of probation
Is currently delinquent on court-ordered restitution and fees
A driver license suspension notice was recently issued due to unpaid court costs
This isn’t ancient history — this is a recent guilty plea and a probation sentence she is actively serving right now.
And yet, she’s been placed in a position of leadership and authority over children.
Did Palm Beach Prep conduct a proper background check?
Were parents and staff informed of this probationary status and active court debts?
Is this the level of judgment and integrity expected of school leadership?
Yes, people can change — but schools are supposed to be led by role models. Someone on felony probation, who hasn’t met their legal obligations, should not be disciplining students or making decisions about their education.
We call on Palm Beach Prep Charter Academy leadership and the governing board to explain this hiring decision and take swift action to protect the integrity of the school.
Our children deserve better.
